Brian Johnson and Art Bailey of Anglers Marine in Santee beat 55 other teams at “the Jewel” on Saturday in National Bass West’s 2nd DVL tournament of the year. Bailey pulled even in another race, albeit an unofficial one. His boss, Anglers Marine owner Rick Grover, partnered with his son Kyle won the first tournament of the year on November 7th. Johnson and Bailey brought 25.94 pounds of largemouth to the scale to beat a very competitive team tournament field on the hottest lake in Southern California.
The Anglers Marine Winter Bass-A-Thon is a must-attend event if you’re a Southern California bass fisherman. The seminar schedule that they put together annually is worth the hour and forty-five minute cruise up Interstate 5 from downtown San Diego. But because of that distance, a little planning may be necessary to make sure you catch the seminars and workshops that you want to see while you’re there. Below you’ll find the seminar and workshop schedule for the 2010 Bass-A-Thon.
It’s already November! For most bass anglers that means two things; turkey dinner and the Anglers Marine Winter Bass-A-Thon. The annual celebration of all things bass fishing is scheduled for November 20th and 21st this year (Saturday and Sunday). The two day show will feature seminars from some of the nation’s leading bass tournament anglers, the premier of a ton of new 2011 fishing tackle (available for purchase for the first time of the year), free workshops by regional experts and much, much more. If you have any interest in bass fishing at all, this is a can’t miss event.
