Diamond Valley Lake received two trout plants today, one from Mt. Lassen (500 pounds) at around 7:30 in the morning and another by the California Department of Fish and Wildlife (unknown total) a couple hours later.

The California Department of Fish and Wildlife (CDFW) has announced planned trout plants for local lakes; Chollas, El Capitan, Miramar, Murray, Lindo, and Lower Otay for the week of March 2nd, 2014.
Bass are biting! Anglers are catching many bass off shore in the 15-25 ft range. They are also catching bass drop shotting in the 30-40 ft range. They’re bringing in smaller bass between 2-3 pounds. Dropshotting purple and brown colored plastics works best for catching bass. Senko’s are also working great!
Trout from 4-6 pounds are biting, as well as stripers from 5-10 pounds and black bass to 3 pounds. More rainbow trout from the CDFW are scheduled to be stocked this week. And 500 pounds from Mt Lassen will be planted on the 18th.
Diamond Valley confirmed a stock of 1,000 pounds of larger grade trout from Mt. Lassen this morning, February 4th.
The trout bite picked up this week! Anglers are catching many trout between 4-10 pounds! Powerbait, kasmasters and mini jigs work best for trout. John Sullivan (age 5) of Riverside caught two trout to the left of the marina using powerbait! His trout weighed 5.31 pounds and 5.32 pounds!
Anglers are catching bass between 3-4 pounds. Dropshotting creature baits in the 50-60 ft range works best for catching bass.…
