The 13 anglers checked at Upper Otay last week reported catching 51 bass to 5.25 pounds. No other species were reported. While the numbers indicate a steady and decent bite, first-hand reports on our forums suggest the fishing there is still a little slow for most anglers.
The 9 anglers checked at Upper Otay reported catching 11 bass to 4 pounds. The water temperature is listed at 60 degrees on the surface. Upper Otay is open on a Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday schedule for catch and release fishing only. Anglers are not permitted to use bait here, only artificial lures with barbless hooks.
